2 shot, 1 killed on Indy’s west side

INDIANAPOLIS – An investigation is underway after one person was killed and another was injured in a shooting on Indy’s west side Saturday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 4 a.m., officers responded to the 5100 block of West 38th Street on the report of a person shot.

When officers arrived, they located two individuals with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to an area hospital for treatment. One victim died of his injuries, the other remains in critical condition, according to police.

No additional information was provided. The incident remains under investigation.
