“We are excited to read exams for one of the premier children’s hospitals in the US (CHKD) and integrate with one of the largest imaging service providers on the East Coast, ProScan,” said Seth Crapp, MD, CEO of South Florida Partners for radiology and pediatric teleradiology.

Pediatric Teleradiology Partners (PedTelerad Partners), a division of South Florida Radiology (SFLrad), last month announced the addition of two new customers to their rapidly expanding teleradiology footprint.

Early last month, the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD), the only pediatric hospital in Virginia and one of only 15 children’s hospitals nationwide to achieve Level 1 certification from the American College of Surgeons, became a customer.

ProScan Imaging, LLC, an Ohio-based company with 19 imaging facilities in Ohio, Florida, New York, Kentucky, Indiana and Arkansas, is Pediatric Telerad’s newest customer.

“As we continue to expand our interpretive services for pediatric radiology and subspecialty radiology in the US, we are excited to read exams for one of the premier children’s hospitals in the US (CHKD) and integrate with one of the largest providers of imaging services to East Coast, ProScan,” said Seth Crapp, MD, CEO of South Florida Radiology and Chief Medical Officer of Pediatric Teleradiology Partners.

South Florida Radiology, and their pediatric subspecialty division – Pediatric Teleradiology Partners, are a physician-owned and operated teleradiology practice that provides radiologist interpretive services to outpatient imaging facilities, hospitals, and clinics across the US.

While the company provides general diagnostic radiologist interpretation services for all modalities, including mammography, they are staffed with US-based, board-certified radiologists with subspecialty fellowship training in musculoskeletal (MSK), neuro and body imaging, and pediatrics to diagnose advanced cases. and meet their client’s needs/requirements for greater specialization.

Teleradiology, considered the “grandfather of telemedicine,” began to form as an industry in the late 1990s. While many processes are now standard in telemedicine (compressing images for faster transfer, preserving patient image storage to compare new patient images with previously captured images, secure dedicated communication lines), teleradiology continues to seek methods (via AI) to help the radiologists in delivering faster turnaround of reports with improved quality and accuracy.
