Putnam Co. woman found alive after missing for one week

UPDATE (11:00 p.m.) – “It feels great. It’s a relief. Feel joy that she’s alive and with us,” said one of Britney Gard’s family members as they gathered at Henricks Regional Wednesday night.

The family is still waiting to get more information on the 46-year-old mother who is being treated at the hospital.

Gard is receiving medical attention after being found in a wooded area just 2.5 miles away from her home.

At this time, it is still unknown how Gard ended up in the woods after being reported as missing for eight days.

“No one knows what happened. No one knows how she got there. No one knows what happened,” said the family.

Still with little information, the family said they are just grateful she is now safe.

This is still a developing story, and WTWO/WAWV will keep providing more information as it becomes available.
