Dry and quiet weather continues in central Indiana
After Indianapolis observed a pair of 67° high temperatures, the region will begin to warm up slightly again beginning Saturday. The warmest of the days looks to be early next week with very little, if any rain chances in the forecast.
High temperatures on Saturday will be in the low to mid-70s across Central Indiana. The same can be said for Sunday as well. The Indianapolis Colts will be back at Lucas Oil Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. game. This go-around, both the roof and window will be open!

Numbers like this are 5-6° above normal for this time of the year. We will only widen the gap further to open the work week. Forecast highs in the upper 70s are likely both Monday and Tuesday with continued abundant sunshine. On these days, it wouldn’t surprise me if we had a few hometowns hit 80°.

The overall trend over the next at least 1.5-2 weeks calls for above normal temperatures to dominate the forecast. For reference, normal highs typically range in the lower 60s.

Indianapolis has only 0.15″ of rain under its belt since October 1st. That’s nearly an inch below normal and that number will only get bigger. For the first time since 2012, an Extreme Drought has returned to portions of central Indiana (portions of Carroll and Howard Counties). Otherwise, more Severe and Moderate Drought levels continue.

With leafs falling, it’s a typical thing to want to burn some of them! Be extra careful if you do any outdoor burning. With our dry grounds, fires can spread a lot more easily, especially if there’s a slightly higher wind. Several Indiana Counties are under countywide burn bans and more will likely be added in the days ahead.
