Fishers man found with meth, fentanyl sentenced to 16 years
FISHERS, Ind. — A Fishers man has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl.
According to a news release by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Indiana, 40-year-old Taurean Young of Fishers was sentenced to a total of 202 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
He was sentenced after pleading guilty to possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl with the intent to distribute, the release said. According to court documents, Young sold a pound of “high-purity” methamphetamine on at least two different instances. While investigating, authorities reportedly found a pound of meth, four ounces of fentnyl, a firearm and body armor inside his residence.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Mishawaka Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
