How you can help families of children fighting illness

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – These are difficult times for everyone. Food prices have risen sharply. Refueling your car’s gas tank costs more than ever. Now imagine that your child is also battling a life-threatening illness.

That’s why News4JAX invites you to participate in the Nemours Children’s Health Day of Giving. On Monday 11 April we are organizing a telephone bank to raise money for the Nemours’ Compassionate Care Fund. The goal is $125,000.

There are two opportunities to help: from 7am to 10am and then from 5pm to 7pm

Every cent of the donations goes towards helping children without resources to get the care and emotional support they need. Your donation can help put food on the table for a family with a young child battling cancer. It can pay for critical medical equipment not covered by insurance. It could even pay for transportation to surgery or pet therapy or music therapy or help a chronically ill child smile and just be a kid.

The Nemours Day of Giving gives you the chance to meet the patient ambassadors who share what Nemours and the Compassionate Care Fund have done for them.

Their families will share what it means to them to be surrounded by the extra support that goes far beyond the life-saving clinical care they receive in Nemours.

This is the fourth year Channel 4 has partnered with Nemours Children’s Health to raise money for the most needy families in our community.

Tune in to The Morning Show from 7am to 10am and News4JAX from 5pm to 7pm to hear these incredible survival stories and get the phone number to donate.
