IMPD arrests man who allegedly fled from vehicle crash scene while intoxicated

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly fled the scene of a crash that caused serious injuries over the weekend.

According to a public police report, 19-year-old Horacio Martinez Morales has been charged with leaving the scene of an OWI crash that caused catastrophic injuries — a Level 3 Felony. The report indicates that the crash unfolded near the intersection of East 13th Street and North College Avenue around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The report indicates that two victims were involved in the crash. IMPD reported that it spoke to at least four witnesses during its investigation of the crash.

Per the report, IMPD recovered more than $500 in cash at the scene and logged it as evidence. Police also listed a 2001 silver Toyota hatchback as evidence.

According to Marion County Jail logs, Morales was booked at the Adult Detention Center in Indianapolis on Saturday. Morales’ booking card indicates that he is due in court on April 22 at 9:30 a.m.
