Juvenile injured during Indianapolis police chase

INDIANAPOLIS — A juvenile was injured during a police chase in Indianapolis on Sunday night.

Public emergency reporting systems indicate the chase — which involved officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department — began near the intersection of East 43rd Street and North Arlington Avenue around 9:04 p.m. A FOX59/CBS4 crew found a crash scene at the intersection of North Arlington Avenue and Village Plaza North Drive around 10 p.m.

Officers at the scene confirmed that the crash involved a vehicle that police had been chasing and a car that was not previously implicated in the pursuit in any way.

Police indicated that the vehicle involved in Sunday night’s chase had previously been reported stolen.

At the end of the chase, police found a juvenile inside the allegedly stolen car. That juvenile was transported from the scene to a local hospital in serious condition.

Police at the scene did not specify if the juvenile was the person who was driving the allegedly stolen car during the chase. IMPD has not yet released the exact age of the juvenile.

Police reported that no officers were injured during the chase. As of this article’s publication, no additional information on the chase and crash had been made available.
