Juveniles injured after crashing stolen car on east side

INDIANAPOLIS – Two juveniles were injured after crashing a stolen car on the east side of Indianapolis Wednesday morning.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched around 5:45 a.m. to the 2700 block of North Arlington Avenue.

There, officers found a white sedan had crashed into a utility police near Arlington and 27th Street. IMPD said the car had been stolen.

Two juveniles, a 17-year-old and a 12-year-old, were hurt in the crash, although police said their injuries didn’t appear to be serious in nature.

Video from the scene showed significant damage to the vehicle with a utility pole leaning nearby after the impact.

The case remains under investigation.
