Man critically injured in shooting on Indy’s near north side

INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after a man was critically injured in a shooting early Monday morning on Indy’s near north side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at around 2 a.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of North Guilford Avenue on the report of shots fired. While in route, officers received a second call of a person shot in the 2200 block of Bellefontaine Street.

When officers arrived, they located a man outside of a residence with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police are asking residents with video surveillance to check their cameras for anything suspicious.
