Pediatrician Welcomes Imminent Approval of COVID Vaccine for Kids 5-11 Amid Opposition to Mask Mandates

The Biden administration is launching a national vaccination campaign for about 28 million children between the ages of 5 and 11. The vaccine will contain two doses and a third as potent as the vaccine given to people over 12 years of age. An independent panel will make a recommendation to the FDA in late October that will evaluate the safety and efficacy of the vaccines. dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, pediatrician and co-chair of the Protect Michigan Commission, joins us to talk more about the vaccine’s introduction to children. “If we want to get back to normal, it’s very important that our children get this vaccine,” says Dr. Hanna-Attisha. “We need all hands on deck to improve our vaccination coverage.”
