Semi crash, fuel spill force officials to close ramp connecting I-65 to Dr. MLK Jr. Street in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A semi crash and subsequent fuel spill forced officials to close a ramp connecting Interstate 65 southbound to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Indianapolis Monday night.

Per an Indiana Department of Transportation media notification, a semi overturned on I-65 southbound at mile marker 116 sometime before 11:02 p.m. INDOT estimated that about 100 gallons of diesel were spilled during the crash.

As of 11:48 p.m., Indiana State Police were estimating that the ramp from I-65 southbound to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street would remain closed for another two or three hours.

ISP also reported that medics did not transport anybody from the crash scene to local hospitals.
