Susan K. Vincent died on April 8, 2022, surrounded by family and after a short battle with cancer. She was born on February 12, 1953 in Lexington, Neb., to Richard and Gloria Elm. She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, and graduated from South High School in 1971. She received her undergraduate degree from Colorado State University-Pueblo in 1975 and her master’s degree in 1998 from Adams State University. She had a 32-year teaching career in Carbondale, Fountain-Ft. Carson, Leadville and Florence. Sue spent one summer in Hawaii and another summer she traveled around Europe. Married on July 28, 1979 to Bruce Vincent, they raised their children Travis, Tyler and Haley in Penrose, Colorado. She was best known from Ahma Sue to her grandchildren Bridger, Colter, Kenna and Charlee. Her most favorite times were spending time camping with her family and staying in the living room with the grandchildren. In addition to being an incredibly gifted teacher, she was also an amazing artist and seamstress, sharing these skills with many children and adults. She was so calm and kind to everyone she met, with a great sense of humor. She is survived by her mother, Gloria Elm of Pueblo West; husband, Bruce of Penrose; children, Travis Vincent of Penrose, Tyler (Heather) Vincent of Olathe, Haley Lisac (Chris) of Pueblo County; siblings, Cindy (Greg) Sinn of Colorado City, Sandy Sazama of Olathe, Mike (Debbie) Elm of Montrose, Sally (Bob) Guasta of Pueblo West, Shelly (Greg) Brunjack of Leadville; grandchildren, Bridger and Colter Vincent of Olathe, and Kenna and Charlee Lisac of Pueblo County, Bernice Vincent, Brenda Vincent of Pueblo, and Brian and Diane Vincent of Wichita, Kan.; as well as numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Elm. Celebration of Life took place on Saturday, April 16, 2022. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassus Hospice Care, 200 W.
