The Dental Connection’s pediatric specialist feels right at home practicing on the island | Local

“She’s a very special person, with good hands,” Dr. Glenn Abrahmsohn, owner of The Dental Connection at the Square Shopping Center, describes Dr. Isabel Rosseltti Cruz, a pediatric dentistry specialist who says she lives and works on Key Biscayne is “more than I can ask for”.

Brazilian-born Rosseltti Cruz, who moved to the area after her husband, a director of Etau Bank, was transferred to Miami, possesses what Abrahmsohn calls “an understanding of the compass of dentistry.”

It helps that Rosseltti Cruz is a strong practitioner of the company’s “painless” philosophy, with Abrahmsohn holding several patents on local anesthetics and pain relief.

Rosseltti Cruz said it’s important to make dentistry painless, especially in her pediatric dentistry specialty. “If you hurt a child, they never come back,” she said, adding that managing pain for children helps build healthy dental habits.

When asked what motivated her to go into dentistry, Rosseltti Cruz said she brought “a smile to patients’ faces.” She likes to recreate patients’ smiles and argues that “smiles bring people together”.

Rosseltti Cruz graduated in Brazil and received her AEGD (Advance Education General Dentistry) from the University of Florida. She was immediately drawn to the ideal of working at a dental clinic like Dental Connection. “Our patients are convinced that it is a safe and sterilized environment.

“We care. We are a boutique dental practice,” she added. “We are not a dental factory where we see dozens of patients a day. (This allows us to provide each patient with a unique experience and treat them as individuals.”

Being small doesn’t mean you’re missing out on dental progress. For example, the office recently changed the process of taking mouth impressions to a new scanning technology. And pain management is an important point of attention. “We’re wimpy central,” laughs Dr. Abrahmsohn.

Rosseltti Cruz, a mother of two, aged 11 and 14, said she feels right at home living on the island, with a growing Brazilian community.
