INDIANAPOLIS — A woman is dead following a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 11p.m., officers were called to the 4000 block of East 10th Street on a report of a personal injury accident. While officers were en route they were updated that someone on scene was shot.
Once police arrived, they found an adult female with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition where she later died.
Police say a two vehicle crash is related to the disturbance that occurred between multiple people in the parking lot of the Eastside Pantry.
A person of interest has been taken into custody.
