CDC Raises $5K for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with Trike-A-Thon

Kids brought out their wheels to do their part to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The children have helped raise nearly $5,000 for other children and their families.

They showed up on their two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers with really colorful and cool protective gear, including helmets and knee and elbow pads to prevent bumps, scrapes and bruises.
These young tikes took a break from their early childhood education for the cause to help families with children their own age in the fight against cancer.
Western Nevada College’s Child Development Center raised nearly $5,000 on March 25 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at its Trike-A-Thon. CDC Director Anna Lisa Acosta-Rogers and her team set up a course for the trikes, bicycles, big wheels and scooters in the parking lot in front of their building on the Carson City campus so that participants can do as many laps as possible.
Fundraisers like this one help St. Jude Children’s Hospital cover treatment, travel, housing and food costs for families with a child in their care.
The children learned to make a difference and left the course with the satisfaction of knowing that they have helped make someone else’s life better.
