Senators from Oklahoma, Indiana make NBA Finals bet with each other

INDIANAPOLIS — Two senators from Oklahoma and Indiana made a friendly bet with each other ahead of tipoff of the 2025 NBA Finals.

In a post on X, senators Todd Young of Indiana and James Lankford of Oklahoma laid out the terms of their bet. Should the Oklahoma City Thunder win the NBA Finals, Young will wear an Oklahoma City jersey. If the Indiana Pacers win the best-of-seven series, Lankford will have to wear an Indiana jersey.

Lankford and Young are not the only politicians from Indiana and Oklahoma City making friendly NBA Finals wagers. Indianapolis and Oklahoma City mayors Joe Hogsett and David Holt agreed to a bet with each other. Indiana and Oklahoma governors Mike Braun and Kevin Stitt also made an NBA Finals bet.

Game 1 of the NBA Finals will tip off at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. More information on this year’s NBA Finals schedule is available here.
